Convergence: Nightwing and Oracle #1

At some point Dick Grayson stopped being Batman and returned to his Nightwing persona. He kept fighting crime in Gotham when suddenly the city was encased in a strange dome. One year later, Nightwing still fight criminals with the assistance of Oracle when the events of Convergence begin.
It’s good to see Barbara Gordon as Oracle again. I find her more interesting in that role than as Batgirl. Living under the dome is affecting her but she tries to hide it. On the other hand, Nightwing has adapted more, since he is more focused on the present than Oracle or Batman. Flashpoint Hawkgirl and Hawkman are savage versions of the classic characters. They want to conquer by any means necessary. Also, Hawkgirl seems to be the brains of the duo, which compares really nice with Nightwing and Oracle (this doesn’t mean Grayson is dumb).

Nightwing's new suit!

The visuals are nice. Nightwing is wearing a new version of his black and blue costume that looks more like his Arkham games design. Flashpoint Hawkman and Hawkwoman look barbaric!

Convergence: Nightwing and Oracle is more grounded than Convergence: Speed Force. It possesses more drama than comic book craziness (not counting the city-inside-dome premise). It was a great look back at Barbara Gordon in her greatest role and her relationship with the former Boy-Wonder.
